The following sequence is required to successfully submit your one-page paper.

  • Assign Paper ID. In order to receive a paper ID through OpenConf, please go to the paper submission portal at https://www.openconf.org/globalem2024/openconf.php and click on the “Make Submission” button. fill out all the information requested. For “Submission Type” select:

After you have filled out the author(s) information for the paper and the contact author, select the topic that you feel your paper is best suited. Finally, if you wish the paper to be considered for the Best Student Paper Award, select the button provided (please check the rules for Student Paper Awards on the website). You then pick a password for the paper. Please record this password and keep it in a safe place, as you will need it to submit your one-page paper and to edit it at a later date. If you have specific questions for the technical review team, you may include those for their consideration in the Comments section of the submission form. When you are satisfied that everything is correct, click on the “Make Submission” button. The contact author will then receive an email with the paper ID number and a copy of your submission.

Upload
Paper

Once you have prepared your one-page paper in the required format, you may upload it using OpenConf. On the same page that you requested your paper ID, click on the “Upload File” link. Note that only a pdf file will be accepted by OpenConf. Please follow the format carefully, as an incorrect format will be rejected by the reviewers. Also, note that the paper can be no longer than one page. You will need your paper ID number and password to complete the submission. Conference Guidelines

Important: Required
Registration for Authors

Speakers must be registered to the conference before 1 June 2024 at midnight US Central Daylight Time. Speakers are not allowed to present more than three papers. After this deadline, papers with no registered speakers are subject to be removed from the program.

Guidelines for Oral Presentation Presenters

Each paper in an oral session is allocated 20 minutes. This includes time required for introduction of the speaker, as well as time for questions from the audience. Therefore, authors are advised to prepare a 15-minute talk and leave some time for questions at the end.

Each lecture room will be equipped with a computer and a data projector. Authors need to transfer their presentations onto the computer in the appropriate room for the session at least 10 minutes in advance of the session in which their paper will be presented. Each lecture room will have a support person that can provide assistance. The formats that are allowed for presentations are Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (.ppt/.pptx) and Portable Document Format (.pdf) (Acrobat Reader 2007). In both cases, if the authors have a video or an audio file embedded in the presentation we recommend to use a video and audio codec compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint. As a backup we strongly encourage authors to have available a .pdf version of their presentation. When preparing the .pdf, the authors should select the “press quality” option to ensure that the fonts are properly embedded. The authors should bring their presentation on a USB memory stick. Authors needing any special audio or visual equipment mustcontact the Technical Program Chair by 1 July 2024.

Authors are requested to be present in the correct room at least 10 minutes before the start of their session. Oral presenters should introduce themselves to the session chair and co-chair as soon as they arrive. Let the session chairand co-chair know of any special assistance required during their talk before the session begins.

Guidelines for
Poster Presenters

The poster session location will be provided later. Posters must fit on a 67-inch x 47-inch (170 cm x 119 cm) poster board (landscape orientation). The poster presenter is expected to remain at the poster during the entire time allotted to the poster session. Each poster will be assigned a number, and must be mounted on the appropriately numberedboard. (You can check the number by referring to the printed or on-line program once it is published.)

Topic Areas

The technical areas of interest for GLOBALEM 2024 are in all areas of High-Power Electromagnetics (HPEM), which includes nuclear electromagnetic pulse, Intention EMI (IEMI) and other transient EM environments including lightning, power system transients and medical applications. In addition to the different types of environments, we consider the sources, the coupling, numerical modeling, measurements, and protection. Authors will be asked to select the one TC that best fits their paper from the list of technical committees presented below, In addition, we have one special session identified thus far (also listed below) and are interested to receive proposals for new special sessions by the deadline date of 11 December 2023. Proposals indicating the title of the special session and a short description of the topic should be sent to the Technical Program Chairman.
